PrimalTap is a retro digital delay plugin modeled after the classic Prime Time delay unit from 1978. Features a signature Multiply control that doubles delay time while halving sample rate with each rotation, creating gritty lo-fi echoes and unusual pitch jumps. VCO modulation section offers four waveforms with rate control extending into audio frequencies for ring modulation effects. Freeze function captures audio slices for looping and warping. Four feedback algorithms include parallel/series modes, ping-pong stereo, and reverb mode. Maximum delay of 2500 milliseconds. Favored by Daniel Lanois, Brian Eno, and David Byrne.
